Our family had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful surroundings of Hotel & Restaurant Gruner Baum Merzhausen. We took advantage of their bike hire service and had a blast cycling through the picturesque countryside. The area is perfect for outdoor adventures, and our kids absolutely loved it!

My kids wished there was a small playground or play area for them to enjoy onsite.

The breakfast at Hotel & Restaurant Gruner Baum Merzhausen was excellent, with a wide variety of choices and generous portions. I particularly enjoyed the delicious food and the friendly service provided by the lady working front of house. She managed the busy restaurant effortlessly, always wearing a smile.

Although the room was comfortable, it did become stuffy during hot weather. The provided fan didn't offer much relief.

Flat pillow.

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. They gave us great advice on places to visit during our city trip. The room was fantastic, spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast each morning was delicious with a wide variety of choices. We also loved the fact that the hotel had free parking and there were good restaurants nearby. The location was great, with a bus station right outside the door.

The unreliable WiFi connection. It was frustrating to have such a poor connection, especially when we needed to research routes or check traffic updates.

I stayed at Grüner Baum for a few nights during my trip to the beautiful Black Forest. The location, surrounded by peaceful greenery and with a stunning view of the hills, was just perfect. My room was spacious, comfortable, and had a large and cozy bed. Although there was no AC, the nights were pleasantly cool. The breakfast offered a good variety of cold cuts, cheese, fruits, and fresh bread, and most importantly, the coffee was exceptional. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist. I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Grüner Baum.

I always return to this hotel as it has everything I need including Wi-Fi, free parking, and a restaurant. The staff helped me find a place I needed during my first stay which I still remember. It's perfect for my romantic escapes.

The room, while simple, was very clean and comfortable. I also appreciated the option to bring my dog down to breakfast. I had a great experience and would recommend this hotel.

I absolutely loved the warm and cozy atmosphere of the hotel. The country-style wooden furnishings in the common areas gave it a charming and traditional feel, making me feel right at home. As a senior woman, I appreciated how accessible the hotel was. The staff was always ready to lend a helping hand with carrying my bags and offering assistance whenever I needed it. It made me feel cared for and taken care of during my stay.

I would have enjoyed a better vacation experience for senior people if the hotel had more comfortable seating options in the common areas. The chairs were a bit too hard and uncomfortable for extended periods of sitting.

I recently stayed at Hotel & Restaurant Gruner Baum in Freiburg for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast served was delicious, with a variety of options including specialty coffees and boiled eggs. The wifi worked well, and parking was convenient. I also enjoyed dining at the restaurant, which offered fantastic food. One of my favorite things about this hotel was the thoughtful touch of providing earplugs, although the room was surprisingly quiet.
